Stock Photos:

Free or Not Too Free?
yellow_spring_daffodil.jpg

If you did not buy the photo or personally take the photo, you are using someone’s copyright when you use their photo. Be prepared for a bill!

If you get caught using a “free” photo you can expect the fines for usage to be $750-$1,500. You can buy photos for $1-$5 each, so why risk it!!

What to do?
  • DO NOT go to Google and look for “royalty free” images. They are not free.
  • Remove any photos from your site if you do not know the source.
  • Get stock photos from real sources like DepositPhotos.com  They offer #100 photos for $100 on a regular basis.
Remember that someone own rights to every photo, the smart move is to buy what you want to use on your website and promotional materials to be safe.
